Honey cap mould for silicone valve squeeze caps
A honey cap mould cuts three things to your drawing: the spout that holds the silicone valve, the hinged lid that snaps shut over it, and the neck thread. The valve itself is a separate part, fitted after moulding. Whether it stays put, and whether the lid still snaps shut over the spout, is settled in the steel.
Our 38/410 honey valve cap tool is photographed, filmed and drawn below. On a second valve cap of ours, a tube cap, our customer signed off samples on 17 checks: 6.26–6.36 g and 14–16 N to open across cavities 1 to 8, plus 300 open-and-close cycles and an air-pressure seal test. All 17 passed.

A honey squeeze cap carries three moulded features that matter: the spout that holds the valve, the hinge and the neck. The silicone valve is fitted into the spout after moulding, so the spout has to be cut to the valve you use; the hinge has to snap the lid open and hold it, then close it tight over the spout; and the thread has to match the bottle neck (38/410 on the cap in the drawing below).
See every cap mould we cut, from flip tops and two colour caps to tear-off closures.
How the tool is gated and cooled decides whether those features come out the same in every cavity. We cut them to your drawing and run the tool here; the caps from that run ship with the mould.
You may also see it called a silicone valve cap mould, a squeeze bottle cap mould or a valve closure mould; in the US, a honey cap mold.

Fitting the silicone valve
The valve goes into the cap once it is off the tool. For the 38/410 cap it is fitted on an automatic line; for the red tube cap further down, on a small air press.
A second valve flip cap of ours, signed off by our customer
These figures are for the red valve flip cap on this page, a tube cap and a second design of ours. Our customer checked samples of it on 17 points and signed them off. Eleven were measured on caps from cavities 1 to 8, one by one; the other six were judged pass or fail. Every check passed.

Storage caps: the honey rides in the cap
A storage cap holds a dose of honey above the drink. Press the top and the honey drops into the water. The footage below shows tools for storage cap parts running.

Seven questions about the tool itself
The seven that decide whether you order, answered for honey valve caps. Where a figure is on the drawing we print it; where it depends on your cap we say which numbers we will ask you for.
Hot runner or cold runner?
We choose on your cap weight and cavity count, so the spout and the hinge fill the same way in every cavity. The choice is stated in the quotation.
Cycle time and output
The cycle is worked from the cap weight and the wall around the hinge, not from a catalogue figure. Give us the caps per hour you need and we calculate the cavitation and the cycle to it.
How the part is ejected
In the 38/410 footage above, a robot takes the caps off and sets them down beside the machine. How your cap comes off the core is shown on the tool layout, which you approve with the drawing.
Tryout report and acceptance
The tool is run here and the caps it made ship with it. On the red tube cap above, our customer signed off samples on 17 checks, 11 of them measured cavity by cavity. Tell us yours and it goes on the acceptance list.
Spare parts
Cavities, cores and hinge inserts are cut from the same drawings later on. Tell us at quotation time which wear parts to pack with the tool.
Warranty
Warranty terms are in the quotation for that tool.
Will it fit your machine?
Send the make, model and tonnage of your injection machine. The platen, tie bars and ejector stroke are checked against it before the mould is designed.
What we will ask you for: the neck size, the silicone valve the cap takes, the cap weight, the material, how many caps an hour, and the machine tonnage.
How many caps an hour do you need?
The output sets the cavity count, and the cavity count sets the tool, the price and the machine it runs on. Give us the output you are planning around.
