Cosmetic and pharma bottle IBM mould
Cosmetic and pharmaceutical bottles are bought on how they look and on whether the closure seals. Both are decided by the neck, and in injection blow moulding the neck is formed in steel on a core, so what the first bottle has, the last one has too.

Seven questions about the tool itself
The seven that decide whether you order, answered for this tooling. Where a figure is on the drawing we print it; where it depends on your part we say which numbers we will ask you for.
Hot runner or cold runner?
The injection station forms the neck and the preform, and on a small cosmetic bottle at higher cavitation that station is usually hot runner. The blow station has no runner. Your quotation says which arrangement the set uses.
Cycle time and output
Preform and bottle are made in one cycle, so the limit is the cooling on the thicker of the two. Tell us the bottles per hour and the cavitation is worked back from it.
How the part is ejected
The finished bottle is stripped off the core rod, not pushed off by pins, so there is no ejector mark on a part the customer will hold up to the light.
Tryout report and acceptance
The set is run here and the bottles ship with it. On a cosmetic bottle the acceptance points are weight, the neck, and whether the wall is even and the surface clean.
Spare parts
Core rods, neck inserts and cavity halves come off the same drawings. Core rods wear first; say how many spare sets to pack.
Warranty
Warranty terms are written into the quotation for that set.
Will it fit your machine?
Tell us the make and model of your injection blow machine and its station spacing. A small bottle set is cut to that machine, and we confirm the fit before the design is frozen.
What we will ask you for: the bottle volume and weight, the neck, the material, the bottles per hour, and your injection blow machine.
How many small bottles an hour do you need?
Small bottles are usually bought in short runs and then repeated, so tell us both the first order and the yearly number you expect — the tool is planned around the second one.
