The requirement

For water and juice, clarity sells. Any haze, streaking or distortion in a PET bottle reads as low quality on the shelf, so this Bangladeshi bottler needed consistently crystal-clear ~500 ml bottles. At the same time every extra gram of PET is money spent on every single bottle — lightweighting without sacrificing strength is where beverage margins are won or lost.

The technical challenge sits in the material. PET only reaches full clarity and mechanical strength when it is biaxially oriented — stretched in two directions during blowing so the polymer chains align. Under-orienting leaves the bottle hazy and weak; over-thinning to save weight without proper orientation gives a bottle that panels or fails. And the light empty bottles then have to move to filling without denting, tipping or jamming — a patchwork of mismatched equipment invites bottlenecks.

The line AMAN delivered

AMAN provided a complete two-step PET stretch blow molding line — air conveyor included — for clear ~500 ml beverage bottles. Injection-moulded PET preforms are reheated to orientation temperature, then a stretch rod extends the preform axially while blow air expands it radially. That combined stretch delivers the biaxial orientation that gives PET its clarity, its strength, and its ability to be lightweighted without losing performance — the orientation is what lets material be taken out safely.

To keep the line moving, AMAN integrated an air conveyor that transports the light empty bottles by the neck ring on a cushion of air — the reliable way to move lightweight bottles at speed toward filling without damage or jams. As a single-source turnkey supplier, AMAN tested the full line on production-representative PET preforms before shipment and paired it with training and after-sales support.
