Injection Blow Molding for Pharma Eye-Drop & Dropper Bottles — 10–30 ml HDPE/PP Medicine Bottles, Bangladesh

The requirement
Small pharmaceutical bottles are a precision job. An eye-drop or dropper vial has to seal perfectly, so the neck and thread finish must be accurate and repeatable down to fractions of a millimetre — anything less risks leaks or a cap that won't seat. On containers this small, even minor flash or scrap becomes a serious, visible defect, and pharma customers expect medical-grade cleanliness.
Extrusion methods, which pinch a parison and leave a weld seam plus base flash, are a poor fit here: the pinch-off creates trim scrap and a potential weak point, and holding tight neck geometry on very small parts is harder when the neck is formed by blowing. For neat, consistent 10–30 ml white bottles, this Bangladeshi maker needed a process where the neck is dimensionally controlled and the body carries no pinch seam at all.
The line AMAN delivered
AMAN supplied a 3-station injection blow molding (IBM) machine — the technically correct process for small, precise pharma bottles. The preform is first injection-moulded onto a core rod, so the neck and thread are formed by injection to tight tolerance; the core indexes to the blow station where the still-warm preform is blown to final shape; and the finished bottle is stripped at the eject station. Because the parison is injected rather than pinched, there is no weld seam and no flash to trim, and very little regrind on the finished vial.
That process fit is exactly why IBM beats EBM for this container: the injection-formed neck gives the accurate, repeatable thread and sealing surface that droppers and child-resistant caps require, and the seamless body suits small HDPE and PP medicine bottles. AMAN set up the 3-station cycle for the 10–30 ml range and validated neck dimensions and bottle consistency on production-representative HDPE/PP during its own pre-shipment testing — the footage here is the line in production at AMAN.
The results
- 3-station injection blow molding line configured for 10–30 ml HDPE/PP eye-drop, dropper and medicine bottles
- Injection-formed necks delivering precise, repeatable threads and sealing surfaces for dropper inserts and CR caps
- No pinch-off means no weld seam, no flash to trim and very little regrind on tiny pharma bottles
- Neat, seamless white bottles suited to pharmaceutical-packaging cleanliness standards
- Process (IBM over EBM) correctly matched to small-bottle accuracy, then tested at AMAN before shipment
