HDPE detergent bottle and its cap - one mould set
Most bottle-and-cap problems are not bottle problems or cap problems. They are neck problems, and they appear when the two tools are ordered from two suppliers. This set was drawn as one job: the blow mould for the bottle and the injection mould for the closure that goes on it.
- What was builtOne extrusion blow mould for the bottle, one injection mould for its closure

What the customer was making
An HDPE household detergent bottle with a handle and a measuring closure on top - the kind of bottle where the handle is formed in the tool and the cap doubles as the dose cup.
What was built
The blow mould for the bottle was cut with the handle, the pinch-off and the venting in it, and the injection mould for the closure was drawn against the neck that blow mould produces. Both tools were machined in the same workshop and both were tried out before shipping, so the first closure was screwed onto the first bottle here rather than at the customer's plant.
Because the two tools were quoted together, there was no argument about whose dimension was wrong: the neck exists once, in one set of drawings.
What it would look like for your bottle
Send the bottle and the closure you sell, or the drawings. The two tools are quoted as one set, and the trial parts - bottle and cap - ship with them.
